The centre's flagship program is the Praxis Screenplay Competition. Since 1986, more than 130 feature film and MOW screenplays by Canadian writers have been selected for an intensive workshop process with an exclusive list of international industry professionals.

With our Script Analysis Program and Story Editing Internship, the Screenplay Competition has made Praxis a leader in the development of Canadian screenwriting.
Praxis also sponsors a range of seminars, courses and weekend workshops on topics related to screenwriting and filmmaking in Canada, from seminars on pitching, script development, and the life cycle of a TV series, through to advanced screenwriting courses, seminars in business skills for writers, and script readings.
